Ruth Cecelia McNett

Ruth Cecelia McNett, age 94, of Prairie Grove, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016. She was born March 8, 1922, in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, the daughter of John and Ruth Ryder Birbeck. She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy McNett; and her brother, Jack Birbeck. Ruth enjoyed cooking and crocheting. She and LeRoy enjoyed traveling and cooking in their RV and spent a lot of time down in Mexico. The most memorable traveling experience that Ruth made was the trip she took while moving from New York to Southern California where she stayed to raise her children. Ruth was survived by her two sisters, Esther Rees of Missouri, and Sandra Leichliter and husband Nevin of Hiawatha, Iowa; her three daughters, Cheryl George of Prairie Grove, Karen Jenkins of St. Charles, Arkansas, and Nancy Hulshizer and husband Larry of Lincoln, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
