Charles Joseph Knox

Charles Joseph Knox, 76 ,of Rogers Ark., passed away June 22, 2016 while a patient at Mercy Hospital. Charles was born in Charleston, Ark., April 17, 1940 to The late Jack Knox and Beatrice Cole. He is a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Fort Smith and a lifelong resident of the state. Charles was a US Army veteran of the "bay of pigs" era, a mason, 32° degree Scottish rites, Shriner and past or present member of the fraternal order of the Eagles, Elks, and Moose lodge. He is survived by one son, David Knox and wife, Carolyn Knox of Heavener, Okla. and two grandchildren, Brook and Nicholas Knox. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Emma Knox and two sons, Mark and Jason Knox and two sisters, Phyllis Plank of Rudy, Ark. and Juanita Humphreys of Rogers. A private family memorial will be held at the Lewis-Roberts Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with interment at Roselawn cemetery. A quiet bear of a man with a caring heart and unyielding personal, religious and political convictions. A private family funeral service was his choice. His apologies to a legion of friends who will mourn his passing and to a relative few non-supporters, Charlie would say "so mote it be". Arrangements  under the direction of Lewis-Roberts Funeral Chapel, Fort Smith, Ark.
