Max Tate

Max Tate, age 77, of Elkins, Arkansas passed away Saturday July 2, 2016. He was born September 26, 1938 in the Richland Community near Tuttle to Ralph and Mildred McCawley Tate. Max was a member of the Elkins Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife Carol Elliott Tate; sister in law, Peggy G. Stephens and brother in law, William J. Fields. He worked for Arkansas Western Gas for 32 years. He is survived by one daughter Jan Shumate and her husband Ed of Durham, Arkansas; one son, Max Alan Tate and his wife Robbin of Bella Vista, Arkansas; three brothers, Mart Tate of Elkins, Junior Tate of Fayetteville, Jimmy Tate of Elkins; six grandchildren, Brooke Gunter, Courtney Shumate, Emerald Tate, Kinsey Tate, Gabrielle Tate and Judah Tate. Visitation will be 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Wednesday July 6, 2016 at Moore's Chapel. Funeral service will be 10:00 am Thursday at Moore's Chapel with burial to follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
