Samantha Kay Paul

Samantha Kay Paul, 42, of Lincoln, Ark., passed away at her home on Monday, Dec. 28, 2015. Samantha was born on April 28, 1973 in Siloam Springs, the daughter of Sam Barnes and Sharon Pearson Barnes. She married Kelly Paul on Sept. 22, 1995. Samantha was the Valedictorian of her graduating class from the Siloam Springs High School. She then attended the University of Arkansas where she studied Criminal Justice and later received her Bachelor's in Business Administration from the John Brown University. Samantha retired as a Captain from the Central EMS in Fayetteville, where she was over the 911 Communication Center. Samantha was very active in her career which included teaching and training in 911 protocols, lecturing on the National level around the country, and being instrumental in the writing of 911 policy and procedure. Samantha was also very active in her personal life, always assisting people. She was the President of the Historical Society of Cincinnati, a member of the Fayetteville Historical Society, loved to read and write, loved her Weimaraner dogs, enjoyed fishing and being with her family. She is survived by her husband, Kelly Paul of the home; her mother, Sharon Barnes of Cincinnati; her brother, Joey Barnes of Cincinnati; along with many friends Visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Summers Missionary Baptist Church on Monday, Jan. 4, 2016 at 10 a.m. Brother Paul Young will officiate the service with burial being held at the Old Union Cemetery in Cincinnati under the direction of the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
