Herman Conley Parker, age 72, of Brannon Mountain, died Friday, Feb. 12, 2016 at his home after battling cancer for five years before the Lord took him home. He was born Sept. 16, 1943 in Japton, Ark., the son of Ewell and Ollie Harriman Parker. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Calvin Parker, Thomas Jerry Parker and Floyd Allison Parker and two sisters, Vida Mae Ball and Bonnie Smith. He was a farmer and a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the 101st Airborne Division and 1st Cavalry Division. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bessie Jane Parker; two sons and daughters-in-law, Cary Parker and wife Joy of Springdale and Jeremy Parker and wife Misty of Elkins; five grandchildren, Payton Parker of Springdale, Lindsey Parker of Fayetteville, Ty Parker, Asa Parker and Cash Parker all of Elkins; four sisters, Wanda Brannon of Baxter Springs, Kan., Emma Lee Williams, Imogene Faulkner and Patsy Parker all of Elkins, one brother, Carl Wendell Parker of Elkins and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and many, many friends. Visitation will be held 5 p.m.–7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 15, 2016 at Moore's Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday at Brannon Mountain Church followed by burial at Brannon Mountain Cemetery, under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
