Harvetta Ann Lance, 73, of Springdale, passed from this life Feb. 11, 2016 at her home. She was born Oct. 5, 1942 in Springdale to Harvey and Lois (Jones) High. Harvetta was a miracle child. She was one of the first survivors of experimental pig-valve replacement surgery. The surgery took place in Baltimore, Md. in 1948 when Harvetta was six. She loved dancing, bowling and gardening—especially her roses. She was a very proud hair model. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family. Harvetta is preceded in death by her parents and a great-grandson, Jaron Hogan. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Tracy Hogan and her husband Shannon, Shannan Bilderback, and Amber Lance; her grandchildren, Jeremy Hogan, Lyndsey Hogan, Annika Hogan, Aaron Nealey, Blaine Nealey, Skylar Worley, and Kaden Worley; and great-grandchildren Karson Hogan, Saylor Hogan, and Lyrik Sanders. Funeral service is 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 15, 2016 at Westfield Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m. Interment is at Friendship Cemetery.
