Wendell Lynn Johnson, age 76, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday, November 29, 2016 in Fayetteville. He was born August 7, 1940 in Wesley, Arkansas, the son of Jean and Madge Eubanks Johnson. He was former co-owner of Richland Handle Company and Southwest Fabrication. He was a retired police officer for the City of Fayetteville and filmed basketball and football games for Ramey Junior High and Woodland Junior High in Fayetteville. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his wife Arvilla Gayer Johnson; son, Larry Johnson; two sisters, Joann Jones and Donna Jones; grandson, Larry Johnson Jr. He is survived by Carolyn Baggett of the home; two daughters, Diana Nash & her husband Coleman of Fayetteville and Angela Harrison & her husband Andy of Fayetteville; a son, Gary Johnson of Fayetteville; his mother, Madge Johnson Lawson of Wesley; three sisters, Lana Patrick of Fayetteville; Wanda Bowen of Wesley and Sherry McFee of Wesley; a brother, Neil Johnson of Springdale; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 1 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Moore's Chapel followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. at Moore's Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Fayetteville Athletic Department at Fayetteville Schools and the Veterans Administration Palliative Care at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.
