Altha Rhea Barrows, resident of Berryville, was born January 25, 1925 in Berryville, Arkansas, daughter of John Addison and Etta R. (Colvin) McKinney. She departed this life Monday, November 28, 2016 in Berryville, Arkansas at the age of 91. She was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary and the Moore Free Will Baptist Church, where she was church treasurer for over 20 years and a Sunday school teacher. She began teaching at Moore school when she was 16 years old. Later she taught special education at Berryville and truly loved spending time with her students. On August 9, 1946 she was united in marriage with Roger William Barrows, who survives her. She is also survived by her sons, Terry Barrows and wife, Cyndi, of Nixa, Missouri; Richard (Rick) Barrows and wife, Eileen, of Springdale; Kevin Barrows and wife, Jill, of Berryville; sister, Reta Thorne of Eureka Springs; seven grandchildren, Scott, Sean, Brian and Kirk Barrows, Michelle King, Lindsey Madden and Lane Crosno; seven great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Addison and Etta R. (Colvin) McKinney and four sisters, Vella Howard, Ina Boatright, Erma Burkett and Ruth Goins. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, December 2, 2016 at the Moore Freewill Baptist Church, Berryville. Interment will follow the service at Moore Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service, Inc.
