Willetta Jean Davis Reynolds, 87, of south Fayetteville, went home to the Lord Sunday, August 28, 2016. She was born May 12, 1929 to Floyd Voll and Ethel Ebb Phillips Davis Southern in West Fork. Willetta, known to all as "Willie", leaves behind her best friend and husband of 60 years, Olen "Shorty" Reynolds. In Heaven, Willetta will be reunited with her parents, her sister, Charlotte "Chub" Davis Lee Carter, Gary Owens, her step-brother, her son-in-law, Steven Cupps and many other loved ones. She was a member of Baptist Ford Church, in Greenland, a place that was dear to her since childhood. Willie will be dearly missed by her five children and three children-in-law, Frances and Woodrow Johnson of Bokoshe, Oklahoma, Lloyd "Butch" and Cathy Mounce of Gainesville, Texas, Debbie and Mike Clevenger of Farmington, Rita Cupps of Sherwood and Troy Reynolds of Fayetteville. Willetta is "Grannie Willie" to 11 grandchildren, Sammy Johnson and Shannon Johnson of Bokoshe, Michelle Nicole Mounce Boyle, of Texas, Stephanie Mounce Newman of Farmington, Keegan Mounce of Texas, Tina Clevenger King and Chip Clevenger of Farmington, Robert Cupps of Cabot, Becky Cupps Sparks of Bryant, Zach Patterson and Troy Reynolds, Jr. of Springdale. She has 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Bettie Painter, of Fayetteville and Sue Keene of Greenland are her two youngest sisters. Willetta was the oldest of four girls and they were precious to one another. Willetta lived almost half her life on the U of A Farm, the job Shorty has dedicated over 50 years of his life to thus far and will continue. Live bluegrass music, singing hymns, yard sales, sewing, ceramics, reading the good parts of the NWA Times, often copying articles that she appreciated for one reason or another and many other interests brought much joy and countless friends into Willetta's life. Willetta was a woman of strength and personality that made people love her. She, like her mother, was a recorder of history. In 1987, in her beautiful cursive, she wrote, "How To Be Rich Without a Dime in Your Pocket, Have a wonderful Mother and Dad, three great sisters, all Best Friends, raise five children of your own, partly raise three more, Have 17 Kids in the neighborhood and have them spend and an awful lot of time at your house, take in two girls while they have their babies, have two sisters (at two different times, Thank God) stay with you, plus a step-sister in law, take care of a neighbor lady with M.S. for two or threeo years. Oh, I almost forgot, have nine grandkids. The writing continues about churning butter, canning, being a seamstress, her jobs and talking to the young people she loved about Jesus and the Bible. She finishes the handwritten letter with, Money is just a Convenience-Memories are Wealth-That's why I'm rich." Willetta is a great loss to all who knew her. Visitation will be 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Moore's Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday at Baptist Ford Community Church in Greenland followed by burial at Baptist Ford Cemetery, under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
