Leddie Pauline Shaw Allen, age 86, was welcomed Home to be with our Heavenly Father on October 17, 2015. She was born on February 8, 1929 in Arkansas to Leddie Mae Stokes Shaw and John Llewellyn Shaw. She graduated from Rural Dale High School where she had been the Harvest Queen and Captain of the basketball team. Pauline married the love of her life, Charlie Dee Allen on October 1, 1949. Pauline was a good wife, mom, and homemaker. She was a very honest and direct with all. She also was a great cook and made the prettiest and best tasting pies. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and watching all sports. One goal in her life was to make sure her girls knew how to cook and sew. Her greatest accomplishment were her children. She was very proud of what they had become. Pauline was a country girl and had her own special words and way of talking. We often joked with her that we were going to create a "Grandma's Dictionary" to understand what she was saying. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie; parents; brothers, Ruey, Otis, Robert, and Gilbert; and sisters, Doris, Theola, Bernice, and Margret. Pauline is survived by her daughters, Martha King of Corpus Christi Texas, Paula (Terry) McDonald of Grapevine, Texas, Kathy (Jon) Walter of Big Bear, Calif.; sons, Charles (Berta) Allen of Corpus Christi, Texas, Curtis (Sue) Allen of Corpus Christi, Texas. She is also survived by her youngest sister, Virdy Irene Dabbs of Bessemer, Ala.; youngest brother, Danny Shaw of Benton, Ark.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Seaside Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park. The family would like to give a special thank you to Corpus Christi Nursing and Rehab and Harbor Hospice staff for their care. We are very grateful.
