Harold Roy Hughes, 90, of Pea Ridge, died Friday, October 2, at Shiloh Nursing and Rehab in Springdale. He was born April 28, 1925 in Springdale to Roy William Hughes and Cecil Geneva Mason Hughes. He served in the US Marine Corp. during WWII as a Field Music Corporal where he played bugle at reveille and taps. He married Ruby Bell Harris February 9, 1947. He worked for Lucky Stores for 21 years where he was in fleet maintenance and garage manager. He moved to Pea Ridge in 1990 to make his home. He loved music, playing the guitar and singing. He served as a deacon at Westside Baptist Church in Pea Ridge for many years and is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ruby Hughes; and one sister, Loretta Ball. Survivors are two sons, Michael Hughes and wife Julie of Sacramento, California, and David Hughes and wife Janice of Laguna Hills, California; one daughter, Tonya Deloris Dumant and husband David of San Jose, California; three brothers, Kenneth Hughes of Springdale, Herbert Hughes of Farmington, and Larry Hughes of Hot Springs; two sisters, Lenora Sutton of Springdale and Donna Danner of Fayetteville; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral is set for 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 10, at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Pea Ridge Cemetery.
