George Dewey Deane, age 77, of Rogers and formerly of Guymon, Okla., passed away May 28, 2015. Dewey was born Feb. 15, 1938 in Goodwell, Okla. to parents, George Merle Deane and Evelyn Woods Deane. Dewey spent his youth working the family homestead in the Unity Community near Guymon. He also worked on many of the other farms in the area. He was a perfect example of the hard-working man. After graduating from Guymon High School, he joined the United States Air Force. Dewey served his country for four years. The first two were spent in Japan. Upon his return from Japan, he married his high school sweetheart, Loyce Faye Adkins on August 17, 1959. They then moved to Great Falls, Mont. where he served out his last two years. They then returned to Guymon to start raising their family. Dewey worked for many years at a Chevrolet dealership and later as a farm and ranch store manager. He enjoyed fishing, dancing with his sweetheart to good old-fashioned country music, and was also a skilled wood-worker. Dewey never took himself too seriously and loved to laugh. He had a heart full of love for his family and left everyone he met laughing. He taught his children kindness, good humor, great values, and the satisfaction of a job well done. Dewey loved spending time with his family and was the ultimate prankster; some might even say he was a "little bit" ornery. He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Retha Gay Deane; brothers, Jerry and Billy Deane and one sister, Betty Hirn. Dewey is survived by wife, Loyce of the home; two sons, Matt Lawayne Deane and Dewey Clint Deane and wife, Cindy of Rogers; two daughters: Phyllis DeAnn Brown and husband, Jeffrey of Rogers, Reva Shawn Lear and husband, John of Guymon; one brother, Gale Deane; grandchildren: Jordin Dickerson and husband, Colt, Jarin Brown, Chance Lear, James Deane, Taos Deane, Cassandra Madsen and husband, Luke, all of Rogers and Tanner Ritter of Phoenix, Ariz., Chase Ritter and wife, Melissa of Edmond, Okla.; eight great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Please send any condolences to Benton County Memorial Park, PO Box 328, Rogers, AR 72757, and we will make sure the family receives them. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel, 3800 W. Walnut, Rogers. The family will have visitation at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5 to 8 p.m.
