James Darrell Scott, 81, of Garfield died Thursday, April 23 at Legacy Hospice in Bentonville. He was born September 1, 1933 in Garfield to Clarence James Scott and Elsie Bell Stephens Scott. He married Etta Louise Stover on May 9 1957. He spent 20 years with the Benton County Road Dept. and 20 years driving a truck for Willis Shaw. He was a Rogers Police Officer of eight years and he served the US Army as a combat engineer in Korea. He loved to hunt, fish, was an avid foxhunter, enjoyed talking to people and was a member of New Prospect Church in Garfield. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Etta Scott in 2011 and a brother, Dale Scott. Survivors are three sons, Glen Scott and wife Jannette of Garfield, Billy Scott and wife Becky of Bella Vista and Johnny Scott of Jonesboro, Ark; one daughter, Belinda Mason of Garfield; a son-in-law, Jeff Mason of Garfield; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Service is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 6 at New Prospect Church in Garfield with Pastor Ron Shultz officiating. Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. Burial will be in the Scott Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 5 at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at siscofuneralhome.net.
