Joyce Barnett, 78, of Garfield, died Thursday, March 26, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville. She was born September 26, 1936, at Seadrift, Texas, to Joseph Robert Dierlam and Margaret Lou Crow Dierlam. She was an agricultural statistical reporter for 37 for the U.S. Government. She was very active as a pastors wife at Gateway Chapel Church, enjoyed RV traveling, southern gospel music, playing dominos, was very active with Battlefield 4-H club and the 4-H Foundation, served on the Benton Co. Fair Board for many years, and was a foster mother to twenty-plus foster children through the years. She was a very active "mama" with her grandchildren attending many ball games and graduations over the years. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, LC Barnett of the home; a daughter, Sherry Weiman and husband Steve of Bella Vista; three sons, Lonnie Barnett and wife Sharon of Gateway, Wade Barnett and wife Cindy of Guyton, Georgia, and Norm Barnett and wife Debbie of Benton, Ark.; one sister, Margaret (June) Stafford of Natalia, Texas; eight grandchildren; and two 1/2 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at Gateway Chapel Church with burial at Bayless Cemetery. Visitation is set for 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 27 at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.
