Master Sergeant Orvie J.D. Gosnell, 84, of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015 in Pittsburg, Kan. He was born June 9, 1930 in Center Ridge, Ark. to Loyd Gosnell and Willie (Banning) Gosnell. He was a retired Master Sergeant of the U.S. Army, having served 21 years during both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. After retirement, he worked for the Job Corps and attended Ridgeview Baptist Church in Fayetteville. He is preceded in death by a son, Donald Gosnell; daughter, Starle Ann Gosnell; and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Louise Gosnell; one daughter, Patricia Stoner and husband, Lance of Pittsburg, Kan.; one brother, Joe Gosnell of Alma, Ark.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2 at Moore's Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville. Graveside service with Full Military Honors will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 3 at Fayetteville National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 3 Med Ctr.
