Steven 'Steve' Allin Doss
Steven "Steve" Allin Doss, 64, of Prairie Grove passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Jan. 5, 2015, after a long, strong battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 12, 1950, to Omar Lovey and Annie Mae Kilpatrick Doss in Fayetteville, Ark.
Steven was a self-employed painter for over 35 years. He also worked for Sweetser Construction for many years before be found his career in painting houses. He had a passion for gardening and being outdoors. He could fix anything, never met a stranger and had a kind heart. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He loved being a grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gene Doss; one sister-in-law, Naomi Doss; one uncle, Bobby Kilpatrick.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley "Kathy" Doss of Prairie Grove; three sons, Ray Sims and wife, Pam, of Fayetteville, Steve Doss and wife, Niki, of Rogers, and Jason Doss of Springdale; one daughter, Amanda Farmer and husband, Charles, of Springdale; two stepsons, Shane Doss of Winslow, and Shad Doss and wife, Grace, of Lincoln; one very special daughter-in-law, Racheal Doss of Summers; one brother, Marvin Doss of Strickler; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Moores Chapel of Fayetteville, with Pastor Lowell D. Essex officiating.
Visitation will be Friday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.
