Harold Dwight Grammer

Harold Dwight Grammer, 81, of Colcord, OK, died on December 31st, 2014. Harold Grammer, son of Homer and Ann Grammer, loving father of daughters, Tracee, Leslie, and Jennifer, passed away December 31st at the home of his daughter Leslie Beckham, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Oct. 7, 1933. While living in Tulsa, he attended Tulsa Central High School, and the University of Tulsa. He married the love of his life, Marguerite (Rita) Engelke, on December 31, 1960. It's fitting that he went to his heavenly home on this date, and they will celebrate together once again. He is pre-deceased by his parents, his wife Rita Grammer, and his brother, John C. Grammer. He is survived by his daughters, Tracee Williams and her husband Darrell of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Leslie Beckham and her husband Michael of North Little Rock, Arkansas; and Jennifer Pierse and her husband Daren of Fountain Hills, Arizona. He is also survived by his beloved granddaughters, Carson and Cameron Pierse of Fountain Hills, Arizona, and his two sisters Reading Deutsh of Springdale, Arkansas, and Sharon Davis of Castle Rock, Colorado, and numerous immediate family members and lifelong friends. Harold worked in the construction field his whole life, until his retirement in the early 1990's. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish, a farmer, and a proud Army veteran. He was also a very talented Bridge player, and loved teaching his children and grand children the nuances of various card games. After the death of his wife, Marguerite, in 2003, he travel extensively and spent winters in Arizona with his daughter, Jennifer, and her family. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Arkansas, with Rev. Gordon Garlington, III officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
