Bessie Evelyn Jennings

Bessie Evelyn Jennings, 87, of Springdale passed away Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. She was born Oct. 28, 1926, in Sturgis, Ky., the daughter of Houston and Cora Ramey Wilson. Bessie attended the House of God Church in Rogers and worked in Food Service at the University of Arkansas Bough Commons for 35 + years and for Washington Regional Hospital for 10 years where she received, "Employee of the Year" at the age of 81 years. At Washington Regional Hospital she was known by her co-workers as "Mom". Bessie was preceded in death by her two sons, Donnie K. and David C. Jennings. Survivors include her two sons, Cordis Johnson and wife, Mary of Springdale and Dyke Jennings and wife, Donna of Fayetteville; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, at Nelson~Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville with Pastor Lisa Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in Mount Comfort Cemetery in Fayetteville. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at Nelson~Berna Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Circle of Life Hospice.
