Virgil Lee Babb, 85, of Gentry, Ark., died Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born in Madera, Calif., Aug. 6, 1929, the son of Emma and John Babb. He enjoyed deep sea fishing and enjoyed cooking. His passion in life was driving a truck which he did until he was 70 years old. He drove a total of five million miles and had a million stories. He loved the Lord and attending his church. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Virgil "Butch" Babb and Timmy Babb; and four siblings. Virgil is survived by his wife of 54 years, Peggy Babb of Gentry, whom he married Aug. 11, 1960; six children, David Babb of Manteca, Calif., Linda Walker and her husband, Gary, of Manteca, Calif., Cindy Nelson and her husband, Mike, of Rogers, Terry Herr and her husband, Richard, of Gentry, Usonna Brazil and her husband, Dennis, of Gentry, Frank Harryman and his wife, Vickie, of Gentry. Virgil left behind a total of 33 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly. There will be no public visitation. Pallbearers will be Mike Nelson, Don Qualls, Brian Qualls, Brandon Brazil, Michael Garcia and Caleb Vaughan. Funeral service will be Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Crossroads Revival Center in Siloam Springs. Interment will follow at Gentry Cemetery.
