Jearldine J. Thomas

Jearldine Thomas, age 90, of Springdale, Ark., died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, peacefully in her sleep. She was born July 23, 1924, in Greens Fork, Wayne County, Ind., to the late Truby and Jenny (Baine) Holcomb. Jearldine married Darrell Thomas on Dec. 31, 1940, celebrating 68 years of marriage. She was a nurse at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Ind. Darrell was a tool and die maker at U.S. Engineering. The couple had four children, Darryl Randolph of Angola, Ind., Monty Trevis of Springdale, Ark., Eric Allen of Greenville, S.C., Marilyn Kae Sturm of Spartanburg, S.C. Jeri and Darrell had 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Jeri was a member of the Eastern Star, Red Hats, American Business Women's Association, Friends Memorial Church, Elks and Peaceful Valley Bible Church. Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale, Ark. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home, with graveside services following immediately at the Veterans Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark. Jeri and Darrell spent their most recent retirement years in Springdale, Ark., to be close to their son, Monty, and close friend, Floyd Edward Reeder of Huntsville, Ark.
