Marian Joyce McGrew

Marian Joyce McGrew, 81, of Springdale, passed from this life on Aug. 31, 2014, at her home with her devoted husband, Jim at her side. She was born on Feb. 28, 1933, in Old Alabam, Ark., to John and Ruth King Smith. Marian enjoyed ballroom dancing. She met the love of her life, Jim McGrew at the Four Seasons Ballroom in Dallas, Texas. They were married Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, 1983. One of her treasured memories was of their travels in Europe to Holland, Paris, Germany, London and Edinburgh, Scotland. Marian is predeceased by her father; her mother and stepfather, Ruth and Guy Ray; and her former husband, Charles Moore Sr. Left to cherish Marian's memory are her loving husband, James Arthur McGrew; son, Charles Robert Moore Jr.; stepchildren, Deborah McConnell, Jerry McGrew, and Patricia McGrew; stepgrandchildren, Misti Stone, Abby McGrew and Brooke McGrew; two stepgreat-grandchildren; an aunt, Veda Russi; and several cousins. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, at Westfield Chapel Funeral Home in Springdale. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, at Westfield Chapel.
