Judy Kay Nickell Barker, 68, of Fayetteville passed away peacefully on Oct. 29, 2014, at Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayetteville, with her loved ones by her side. She was born Jan. 24, 1946, in Fayetteville to Howard and Blanche Nickell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Blanche Nickell; paternal grandparents, Richard and Alpha Nickell; maternal grandparents, Charles and Althea Sandlain; uncles; aunts; nephews; nieces; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; and cousins. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, William "Buddy" Barker; two married daughters, Melissa and Marc Lininger of Bella Vista, and Dena and Jeff McCleland of McGuire Air Force Base, N.J.; eight grandchildren, Bethanie Edwards, Weston Lininger, Chasten and Samantha Luther, and Jordan, Brayden, Ty and Lane McCleland; two great-granddaughters, Alice and Addison; three loving sisters, Joann and Dan Gladden, Mary and Tom Layer, and Sandy Burton and Rick Williams; sister-in-law, Bobbie and T.J. Williams; brother-in-law, Willie Dorsey; sister-in-law, Sandy McClelland; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends and neighbors. Judy loved spending time outdoors camping, four wheeling, hunting and fishing with her loving husband, family and their best friends. She was very active in her children and grandchildren's sporting activities and spent several years coaching softball. She loved taking her grandchildren on weekend trips and family vacations. She was also an avid Razorback fan and loved the St. Louis Cardinals. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She spent most of her working years at Ayshire Electronics where she met a lot of great people and made some special friendships. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, at Beard's Chapel. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gene Fulcher officiating. Interment will follow in Nickell Cemetery under the direction of Beard's Funeral Chapel. Condolences at www.beardsfuneralchapel.com.
