Mary Margaret Pruett

Mary Margaret Pruett, 90, of Springdale passed from this life on Oct. 15, 2014, surrounded by her children. She was born March 27, 1924, in Mead, Okla., to David and Cora Thomas Rains. Mary was passionate about her family, her faith and her church family. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Springdale. Mary Pruett was an incredible cook. Mary's kitchen was not just a room where she perfected recipes but a retreat where she shared her skills, faith and love with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It was truly the heart of her home. Mary adored her grandchildren and treasured her time with them. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Leslie "Duane" Gardner and his wife, Linda, of Springdale, Sonia Haliburton of Taft, Calif., and Marilyn Gardner of Placitas, N.M.; grandchildren, George Gardner, Teresa Gardner, Paul Gardner, Debbie Hall and David Sweeney; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Ted Rains of DeKalb, Texas, and Glendale Rains of Norman, Okla. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, at Westfield Chapel Funeral Home in Springdale. The funeral service will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, at Westfield Chapel Funeral Home. Private family interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
