Cletis Edward Childers

Cletis Edward Childers, age 77, of Lowell went to be with his Lord on Oct. 8, 2014, at Shiloh Health and Rehab Nursing Center in Springdale, Ark. He was born May 7, 1937, in Holland, Mo., the son of Otto Sewel and Carrie Channel Childers. He was of the Church of Christ faith and was retired from Xerox where he was employed for 20 years. He graduated from Holland High School in Holland, Mo., and then worked for McDonald Douglas until he joined the United States Air Force in 1957. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is preceded by his parents. Mr. Childers is survived by his wife, Norma Kilbourn Childers, to whom he would have been married 60 years in December, of the home; one son, Randy Childers of Rogers; one daughter, Sandra Farrer of Centerton; three brothers, Marvin Childers of Cooter, Mo., Buddy Childers of Florida and Kenneth Childers of Dyersburg, Tenn.; one sister, Betty Jo Childers of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Joseph Childress of Fayetteville, Cortnee Fisher of Van Buren and Amanda Childress of Fayetteville. Graveside services will be Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Elm Springs Cemetery, with Pastor Wes Hulvey officiating, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, from 4 until 6 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, Springdale, Ark.
