Frances Louise (Yousey) Curtis, 71, of Springfield, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, in her home. She was born March 6, 1943, to Joseph and Mary (Gilliland) Yousey in Rogers, Ark., and was the 14th child of 16. Fran attended Pleasant View grade school and graduated from Southwest High School in Washburn, Mo. She continued her education and became an LPN through the Graff Technical Center in Springfield. Over the course of her career, Fran was employed with Daisy, worked as a dental hygienist and was the on-site nurse for Zenith. Fran was a loving mother, grandmother, avid hunter, tennis player, antique connoisseur, and loved interior decorating and remodeling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur E. Curtis; her parents; and several siblings. Fran is survived by her children, Julie Curtis Wutke and Andy Curtis; granddaughter, Madison Wutke; siblings, Mary Alice Pitts, Barbara Jean Smith, Diane Phelan, Bill Yousey and James Yousey; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. A memorial mass will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2818 E. Bennett, Springfield, Mo. A graveside service will be held Sunday, Oct. 5, for family at the Antioch Cemetery. Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services assisted with arrangements.
