James Fred King

James Fred King, 73, of Rogers died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville. He was born July 23, 1941, in Harrison, Ark., the son of Frederick and Ova King. James proudly served in the United States Navy. He enjoyed watching the Razorbacks, assisting Little League as Commissioner, woodworking, and trains. He was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed his restored '72 Chevy Pickup. He was preceded in death by his parents. James is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary King of Rogers, three sons; Jim King of Lake Charles, La., Andy King and his wife Robynn of Rogers, John King of Tulsa, Okla., one brother; William King and his wife Charlotte of Andover, Kan., two sisters; Jean Travis and her husband Phil of Fayetteville, Barbara Comstock and her husband Ed of Springdale, four grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2 at Sonora Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans Organization.
