Ellen Jane Waselues

Ellen Jane Waselues, 89, of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014, in Fayetteville. She was born Nov. 16, 1924, in Gilmore, Okla., the daughter of James A. and Rebecca Jane Davidson Ratterree. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank John Waselues in 1984, a daughter, Patty Clements in 2004, three brothers, and one sister. She was a homemaker, an avid Razorback fan and enjoyed cooking, gardening and fishing. She loved to travel and spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a volunteer for the Washington County Election Commission, Fayetteville Senior Center, EOA, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Washington Regional Medical Center, March of Dimes, and Walton Arts Center. During World War II, Ellen participated in the "Women at Work" campaign. Much like "Rosie the Riveter," she worked helping to build airplanes at Douglas Aviation in Dallas, Texas. She is survived by a son, Jim Waselues and wife Donna of Fayetteville; a daughter, Barbara Waselues of Fayetteville; a son-in-law, David Clements of Tupelo, Miss.; six grandchildren, Terra Waselues, Jenna Waselues, Hannah Ring and husband Matt, Matthew Clements, Andrew Clements and James Frank Clements; three great-grandchildren, Deuce Ring, Tyler Ring and Asher Ring. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, Okla., under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
