James E. 'Dean' Harris

James E. "Dean" Harris, age 83, of Fayetteville died Friday, May 16, 2014, in Springdale. He was born April 28, 1931, in the Whitehouse Community, Ark., the son of Homer and Ella Shumate Harris. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanine Harris. He was a retired employee of Swepco and a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a farmer, an avid fisherman and a Baptist. He is survived by his wife, June Harris; two sons, Wendell Harris and his wife, Debbie, of Fayetteville, Ark., and Kavin Harris and his wife, Thursia, of Siloam Springs, Ark.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2014, at Moore's Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Moore's Chapel, followed by burial at Whitehouse Cemetery.
