Mary Lively

Mary Lively, 92, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Saturday, March 22, 2014. She was born March 7, 1922, in Chatham, Ontario, Canada, to Fred and Hazel Skinner. Mary lived the majority of her life in Detroit, Independence, Mo., Lamoni, Iowa, and Bella Vista. After attending Graceland University, she met and married Herbert Lively. In addition to being a homemaker, she had several jobs, most notably as director of personnel at Graceland. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Herb; and second husband, Harold Downey; and a daughter, Janice Lively. She is survived by brothers, Don Skinner (Kay) and Gary Skinner (Marsha); daughters, Joan Becker (Ron), Judy Lively (Curt Stine); and son, Brent Lively (Jan). Also surviving her are four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She lived in Bella Vista for the last 30 years and was involved in Barbara Bridge, Stephen Ministries and attended Bella Vista Community Church. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
