Martha Jean Slaughter

Martha Jean Ledbetter Slaughter, 58, of Drakes Creek, Ark., was called to be with the Lord on March 17, 2014, at the Northwest Medical Center of Springdale. She was born Feb. 6, 1956, at Prairie Grove, Ark., the daughter of Junior and Norma June Sisemore Ledbetter. She was retired from Tyson and was a member of the Drakes Creek Regular Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her mother. Martha is survived by her husband, Jack Slaughter of the home; one son, Chad Slaughter of the home; one loving granddaughter, Abby Slaughter, also of the home; her father, Junior Ledbetter of Drakes Creek, Ark.; one brother, Tom Ledbetter of Drakes Creek, Ark.; one sister and brother-in-law, Lyndie and Jeff Ramsey of Huntsville, Ark.; four nephews, Josh Ramsey and Bill Ramsey, both of Huntsville, Ark., Nick Ledbetter of Drakes Creek, Ark., and Marty Slaughter of Lake Wedington, Ark.; and one niece, Andrea Slaughter of West Fork, Ark. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 20, at the Drakes Creek Regular Baptist Church, with The Elders John Napier and Jim Duncan officiating. Interment will be in the Drakes Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home, www.brashearsfuneralhome.net, of Huntsville, Ark. Pallbearers will be Trent Ledbetter, Chris Kisor, Rusty Kellet, Chris Hill, Mike Kisor and Randy Ledbetter. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Ramsey, Bill Ramsey, Nick Ledbetter, Chris Ferguson, J.W. Bohannan and Dean Camp. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Brashears.
