Will Rogers Jeffery, 78, of Huntsville died March 2, 2014, at Meadowview Nursing Home in Huntsville, where he had been a resident for the past eight years after suffering a stroke in 2004. He was born Aug. 10, 1935, in Izard County to Henry Eugene and Ruby Long Jeffery. Will served in the Air Force for four years during the Korean War. He retired from the Soil Conservation Service in 1986 after 30 years of service, and again after 10 years with the Arkansas Health Department. His hobbies included antique cars, fishing and playing the guitar. He also enjoyed visiting with the many friends he made in Madison County over the past 45 years. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary Lee Wright Jeffery of Huntsville; three children, Gary Jeffery and wife, Jennifer, of Springdale, Karen Cannon and husband, Tom, Huntsville, Kenneth Jeffery and wife, Cathy, of Russellville; two grandchildren, Kristen Jeffery of Fayetteville and Justin Jeffery of Russellville. He also had many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews in the Batesville, Ark., area. According to his wishes, he will be cremated and the ashes scattered by his wife and children with no funeral services planned.
