Robert Alfred Johnson Jr.

Robert Alfred Johnson Jr., 87, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at his home in Bella Vista. He was born on Feb. 3, 1927, in Chicago, Ill., to Robert and Myrtle Johnson. He was raised and educated in Chicago. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Bob married Alice Backstrom on March 24, 1951, in Chicago. He was employed as a foreman for Faribault Woolen Mill in Faribault, Minn., from 1953 until retiring in 1989. They moved to Bella Vista, Ark., in 1991. He was a member of the Bella Vista Men's Chorus, Pride of the Ozarks Barbershop Chorus and United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista. He is survived by his wife, Alice Johnson of Bella Vista, Ark.; three sons, Dave Johnson (Wendi) of Rapid City, S.D., Curt Johnson (Elaine) of Overland Park, Kan., Steve Johnson (Linda) of Menomonee Falls, Wis. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014, at the United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista, 100 Cooper Road, with Pastor Darrell Johnson officiating.
