Charles 'Clyde' Hammons Sr.

Charles "Clyde" Hammons Sr., 68, of Elkins passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014, peacefully at home. He was born April 9, 1945, in Oark, Ark., to King James Hammons and Jessie Faye Reed Hammons. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Joydean Hammons and Imojean Daggs; great-grandson, baby Jacob. Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Brenda Hammons; two daughters, Rhonda McGarrah and husband, Danny, and Becky Humes and husband, George; two sons, Charles "Chuck" Hammons Jr., and Dustin Hammons and wife, Tawni; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and countless other family members and friends. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 5, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at Beards Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Dorsey Martin officiating. Private burial be at Oark Cemetery in Oark, Ark.
