Phyllis Jane Moisson

Phyllis Jane Moisson, age 74, of Roach, Mo., passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Mo. She was born Dec. 28, 1939, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of the late William and Alta (McMillian) White. On May 21, 1960, in St. Louis, Mo., she was united in marriage to John August Moisson, who preceded her in death on April 28, 2004. Phyllis worked in healthcare for many years as a nurse until her retirement. She was a very active member of the Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church in Laurie, Mo. Phyllis was also a member of Red Hats, Firefly Club, the Osage Community Elks Lodge No. 2705 in Laurie, Newcomers Club, participated in water aerobics, was a volunteer at Lake Regional Health System and was active in many other organizations in the lake area. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, traveling, reading and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. Phyllis is survived by her sons, John A. Moisson Jr. and wife Carolyn of St. Louis, Mo., James A. Moisson and wife Bridget of Rogers, Ark., and Jerrold A. Moisson and wife Kristen of Milton, Wis.; nine grandchildren, Adam, Haley, Andrew, Hunter, Alexandra, Francesca, Konner, Auguste and Reagan; her faithful dog, Gus and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Scotty White, Raymond White and William White. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today, June 2, at the Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church in Laurie with Pastor Rick White officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the church. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
