Lawrence E. Swaim

Lawrence E. Swaim, 93, formerly of Bella Vista, Ark., died Friday, July 11, 2014, at his cottage at Ozarks Methodist Manor. He was born Oct. 1, 1920, in Waterloo, Iowa. He was a World War II veteran and an elder in the First Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; and his parents, Ray Swaim, Cecil Kinsel; and stepfather, Eugene Kinsel. He is survived by his son, Gary (Donna) Swaim of Texarkana, Texas; a daughter, Sherry (James) Nicholson, a grandson, Eric (Trisha) Risher, and stepgrandson, Chris (Donna) Nicholson, all of Bentonville, Ark.; a stepgranddaughter, Allison Mourning of Cave Springs, Ark.; a stepgrandson, Shawn (Rachel) Nicholson of Seligman, Mo.; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Winifred Leonard, and nephew, Tom Leonard, both of Bentonville, Ark.; and nephew, Terry Crook of Rogers, Ark. We offer a special thank you to his wonderful caregiver, Darlene. A private graveside service will be held at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Fayetteville, Ark., at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 901 N.E. J St., Bentonville, AR 72712; or to the donor's choice.
