Earl Dean Johnson Jr.

Earl Dean Johnson Jr., 57, of Elkins passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, in Elkins. He was born June 19, 1956, in Anchorage, Alaska, the son of Earl Dean Sr. and Janet Rhea Morrow Johnson. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Elkins and owner of Edge Transportation; served in the United States Marine Corps. Survivors include his mother, Janet Johnson of Thompson, Ill.; wife, Phyllis Johnson of the home; seven children, Carole Johnson of Clinton, Iowa, Tammy Johnson of Holland, Mich., Cynthia Stewart of Clinton, Iowa, Beth Matje, Jared of Clinton, Iowa, Karrie Blevins of Columbus, Ohio, Emily and Rachel Johnson, both of the home; seven grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at First Baptist Church in Elkins, with Pastor Rex Griffin officiating. Interment will be in the Fayetteville National Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are by Beard's Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville.
