Floreine Wise, 95, of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away Jan. 14, 2014, at Butterfield Trail Village in Fayetteville. She was born Dec. 14, 1918, in Centerton to John C. and Gertrude (Featherston) Rakes. She graduated from Rogers High School in 1936, received her degree in business and worked as a legal secretary at the Bentonville Courthouse. In 1974, she obtained accreditation as a medical records librarian and worked at the Dardanelle Hospital, Dardanelle, Ark., and the Springdale Memorial Hospital, Springdale. Ms. Flo, as she was known, was always an avid crafter. She enjoyed embroidery, counted cross-stitch and quilting. She was always one to keep busy. She had a strong Christian faith, formerly attending Fellowship Bible Church of Northwest Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Earl E. Wise, in April 2002; and her son, Ronald E. Wise, in November 1965; and sister, Estelle (Rakes) Law. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Earline and Garland Steyer, of Pennsylvania; two grandsons, Todd E. Steyer of California, Terrence E. Steyer and wife, Kelly, of Georgia; and two great-grandsons, Noah and Jack Steyer of Georgia. She is also survived by one sister-in-law; several nieces, nephews and dear friends, Bo and Mindy Hardy of Fayetteville. Her family would like to thank all of her friends and the personnel of Butterfield Trail Village, where Ms. Flo has lived since 2005. At Ms. Flo's request, there will be no public viewing. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at Bentonville Cemetery. Memorials may be made in honor of Floreine Wise to Butterfield Trail Village or Circle of Life Hospice.
