We are writing this note to all of Eleanor Elizabeth Wade's many friends to let you know that our mom passed away on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, in Fayetteville, Ark. She had a fall, before the holiday, and just couldn't overcome the many complications that followed. Mom was in Arkansas to celebrate the holiday with her daughters and families. This means she was getting to do everything she loved best--taking a trip and having an opportunity to "keep up" with all the family adventures. Mom lived for many years in Denison, Texas. She retired from Texas Instruments where she worked creating the chips that are used all over the world. While in Denison, Mom proudly worked tirelessly as a member of the American Legion volunteering for the programs that assist our veterans. After living in Denison, Texas, mom moved to Denton to be close to her grandson, Jason Kolba--and to enjoy a care-free life of freedom in a sunny apartment that overlooks a lake. A special thanks to the Good Samaritan Society for making this possible. Mom was born in the tiny town of Schubert, Neb., and shared wonderful stories with us about living on an orchard farm along with her mother and father, brother, sisters and grandmother, all who have passed on. She never lost this love of nature and gardening. The following quote from Henri Matisse describes her perfectly, "There are always flowers for those that want to see them." Mom was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Wade; and an infant son, Paul Joseph Wade; as well her parents, a brother; and two sisters. She is survived by her children, Lynne Williams of Fayetteville, Ark., Karla Montgomery of Van Alstyne, Texas, and Lyle Wade of Denison, Texas, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity, organization or to the Good Samaritan Society located at 3901 Montecito, Denton, TX, 76210. To sign the online guestbook, please visit www.nelsonberna.com. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home & Crematory, Fayetteville, Ark. A memorial, in Denison, Texas, is planned for this spring to be attended by friends and family.
