Dennis Dean Lambert

Dennis Dean Lambert, age 74, of Springdale, died Jan. 12, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers, Ark. He was born May 14, 1939, in Sioux Falls, S.D. He was of the Baptist faith and retired from the United States Coast Guard after 20 years of service including a tour in Viet Nam. He had also worked as a machinist tool-and-dye maker. He enjoyed listening to country music and playing his guitar along with the artist singing, boating, gun-smithing, and Nascar racing. He was a member of the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans. He was preceded by his parents and one son, Steven Urban. Mr. Lambert is survived by his wife of 45 years, Anita Johnson Lambert, of the home; three sons, Jim Lambert and his wife, Carol, of Sallisaw, Okla.; Mark Lambert and his wife, Geanne, of Winslow; and Ron Urban and his wife, Lisa, of Bentonville; two daughters, Anna Olinger and her husband, Kevin, of Springdale, and Michele Carey and her husband, David, of Bentonville; two brothers: Brian Taule of Charlotte, N.C., and Philip Tyler of Arkansas; one sister, Jeanelle Newman of Clifty; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Brian Taule officiating under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 12 noon at Fayetteville National Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Michael Urban, Jim Urban, Mark Lambert, Ron Urban, Kevin Olinger and David Carey. Honorary bearers will be Ross Urban and Donald Urban.
