Dale Alonzo Hoover, 75, of Rogers, Ark., died Jan. 14, 2014, at his home. He was born Nov. 28, 1938, in Rockwell City, Iowa, the son of Julia and Marvin Hoover. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1957 until 1959 and earned an Honorable Discharge. He was a Iowa State Trooper for many years, and retired as a deputy for the Benton County Sheriff's Office after a few years of service. He had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area for over 30 years after moving from Wichita, Kan. He was a member of the Church of Christ, and a Mason for many years. He was preceded in death by: his parents, two brothers, one sister, and one nephew. Dale is survived by his wife, Marie Hoover, whom he married Nov. 6, 1971; one son, Ryan Hoover and his wife, Tammy, of Rogers; one daughter, Jaqi McConnell and her husband, Larry, of Wichita, Kan.; one nephew, Dean Richardson and his wife, Sherry, of Badger, Iowa; one granddaughter, Rachel McConnell, of Wichita, Kan. Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Epting Funeral Home in Bentonville. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Rockwell City, Iowa.
