Gary S. Clark

Gary Solen Clark, age 77, Joplin, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at his home. Gary was born April 14, 1936, in Siloam Springs, Ark., son of the late Ellery Clark and Esther Hendrickson Clark. He served in the United States Army in the 1960's. He worked at YUBA in Tulsa, Okla., from 1968-1984. He then moved to Joplin and began working with Thermal Engineering. He worked for them until his retirement in 1997 as a foreman. Gary was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church, and enjoyed spending time with his family, and was known for his love of 1957 Chevy's. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by five brothers. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Shelby J. Clark; daughters, Judy McCaslin and husband, Leon, of Neosho, Mo., Teresa A. Gray Clark of Joplin; a son, Jeff Clark and his partner, Bill, of Broken Arrow, Okla.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Lee and husband, Wayne, of Huntsville, Ark.; brother, George Clark of Gentry, Ark. Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 at 2 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in Osborne Memorial Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Freeman Cancer Center.
