Buford Lee Francis, age 83, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at his home in Fayetteville. He was born Aug. 31, 1931, in Flat River, Mo., the son of Lester and Lucille Bannister Francis. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Buford Lee Francis Jr. and Daniel Ray Francis; and a granddaughter, Aliya Melodie Francis. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in Japan during the Korean War. He was called into the music ministry in 1965, and served as music, youth and education director for 45 years. He was a faithful and loving husband, father, grandfather and a great servant of God. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rose Francis; one daughter, Rose Braunns and husband, Les, of Johnson, Ark.; one son, Tim Francis and wife, Kristin, of Bentonville, Ark.; one daughter-in-law, Twyla Francis Rownak and husband, Brian, of Little Flock, Ark.; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at Moore's Chapel. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Sang Avenue Baptist Church, 1425 N. Sang Ave., Fayetteville, AR 72703, under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
