William Charles Sherwood, age 74, of Fayetteville died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, in Fayetteville due to multiple complications from diabetes. He was born March 4, 1940, in Muncie, Ind., the son of Charles and Freda Evans Sherwood. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bill graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1958. He was involved in developing Sherwood Trucking Company of Muncie, Ind., with his father. He and Janie moved to Fayetteville in 1971 at which time he became an entrepreneur opening multiple business interests. He became the founder of King Pizza with multiple locations throughout the surrounding four-state area. During this time he even made the world's longest pizza delivery to Hong Kong for the Arkansas Razorbacks. He enjoyed collectible cars and working on them. He also had a passion for cutting horses. There was never a dull moment with Sherwood's many adventures. His unique spirit will forever remain in the heart of God. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Janie Sherwood; two sons, Jeff Sherwood and his wife, Regina, of Farmington, Ark., and Eric Sherwood of Fayetteville, Ark.; a half-brother, James True of Muncie, Ind.; a half sister, Llanie Knox of Ellington, Fla.; and two grandsons, Dylan Sherwood and Jared Sherwood. A memorial service will be announced at a later time. Cremation arrangements under the direction of Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville, Ark.
