William Louis Seim

William Louis Seim, 86, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Ark. He was born Nov. 5, 1927, in East St. Louis, Ill., to Clarence Seim and Irene Hindmand Seim. He was raised and educated in the St. Louis area. He graduated from the University of Missouri in 1950 with a BA degree in business administration and earned a master's of social work from 1954-1956 at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. He married Joan Cook in 1967 in Lincoln, Ill. William worked in Central Illinois as a social worker for over 35 years. They moved to Bella Vista, Ark., in 1993. He enjoyed biking, hiking, golf and served as an officer in several groups. He was an active member of MENSA wherever he lived. He was preceded in death by his parents; and in 1998 his wife, Joan. He is survived by a stepson, Loren Cook of St. Louis, Mo.; and two sisters, Jean Rogers of Rogersville, Mo., and Shirley Branco of St. Charles, Mo. A memorial will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark. Prior to this a visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m., and interment follows at the Bella Vista Cemetery, Bella Vista, Ark. Because of his lifelong love of the outdoors, nature and animals, the family request any memorial in his name be made to World Wildlife Fund, P.O.
