Omer 'Dean' Parrish

Omer "Dean" Parrish, 92, of Fayetteville died Aug. 26, 2014, in Fayetteville. He was born Dec. 9, 1921, in Brentwood, Ark., to Norman and Sevilla DeVore Parrish. He was a WWII Army veteran, retired from the V.A. Hospital as a masonry carpenter and was a Church of Christ minister for 60 years. His wife, Opal Parrish preceded him in death. He is survived by sons, Garry Parrish and wife, Janet, of Eads, Tenn., Gerald and wife, Brenda, of Mount Juliet, Tenn., and Charles and wife, Nancy, of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; daughters, Norma Posey and husband, Dave, of Fayetteville, Nadine Huddleston and husband, Mike, of Fayetteville, and Nedra Crider and husband, Mike, of Smithville, Va.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at Mount Comfort Church of Christ, with Minister Bobby Dockery officiating. Private interment will be in Black Oak Cemetery, under the direction of Beard's Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
