Thelma Rita Hoins

Thelma Rita Hoins, age 85, of Farmington died April 22, 2014, at Farmington. She was born Oct. 26, 1928, in New Orleans, La., the daughter of Sidney and Rita Percle Barras. She attended Grace Lutheran Church in Lowell and was a homemaker. Mrs. Hoins enjoyed reading, sewing, crafts and playing board games. She was proud to be a true Cajun. Mrs. Hoins is survived by her husband of almost 64 years, Everette Hoins of the home; one son, Brian Hoins and his wife, Christy, of Fairfax Station, Va.; three daughters, Becky Wittman and her husband, Craig, of Chesapeake, Va., Lorena Fuqua and her husband, Charlie, of Batesville, Ark., and Kay McEachern of Farmington; one brother, Jerry Barras of New Orleans, La.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family and friends. Funeral services will be Monday, April 28, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Lowell, with the Rev. Charles Huebner officiating, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be at Fayetteville National Cemetery at 2 p.m. Visitation will be Sunday, April 27, 2014, from 1 until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
