J.D. Johnson
J.D. Johnson, 82, of Weddington, Ark., passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014, at his home. J.D. was born on May 29, 1931, in Weddington, a son of Joe Johnson and Laura Luther Johnson.
He married Shirley Smith on Dec. 15, 1950, in Fayettevlle. J.D. was a farmer and rancher, a member of the Arkansas Cattleman's Association, the American Quarter Horse Association and the Weddington Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Johnson of the home; two sons, Jack and wife, Diana Johnson, of Cincinnati, Ark., and Jon and wife, Lynn Johnson, of Summers, Ark.; two daughters, Sandy and husband, Terry McLeod, of Springdale, Ark., and Brenda and husband, Randy McLeod, of Marysville, Wash.; two sisters, Phoebe Baker of Weddington, Ark., and Barbara Pearson of Siloam Springs, Ark.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at the Weddington Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Brother Joe Hall will officiate the service, with burial being held at the Weddington Cemetery, under the direction of the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m.
