Shirley 'Joan' Drake

Shirley "Joan" Drake, 84, of Bella Vista, Ark., died April 7, 2014. She was born on Sept. 28, 1929, in Albia, Iowa, to Lewis Trussell and Blanche Spears Trussell. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista, First United Methodist Women Coffee Fellowship helper, member of the D.A.R., and led the aerobics class at Metfield Clubhouse. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Bill Trussell; and son, Richard Drake. She is survived by her husband, William Drake Jr. of Bella Vista, Ark.; son, Brian Drake (Annie) of Altus, Okla.; daughters, Cindy Lidgett (Dan) of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Ruth Welch (Mike) of Fort Worth, Texas; son, Bruce Drake of Chesterfield, Mo.; brother, Robert Trussell of Bloomington, Ind.; and eight grandchildren, Alex, Jon, Abby, Becca, Michael, Matthew, Mia and Malena. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive, Bella Vista, Ark., with Pastor Jaimie Alexander officiating. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark.
