James Whittmore

James Ray Whittmore of Fayetteville died Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale. He was born May 8, 1945, in St. Paul, Ark., the son of Opal Jones and Watson Whittmore. He enjoyed woodworking, four-wheeling and buggy riding. He was a lifetime resident of Northwest Arkansas. He was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church of Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Jimmy Randall and James Presley; and one granddaughter, Michaela Beanblossom. James is survived by his wife, Dianna Whittmore of Fayetteville; three sons, Daniel Whittmore and his wife, Carol, of Wheeler, Joshua Whittmore and his wife, Vanessa, of Wheeler, Matthew Whittmore and his wife, Shawna Lovejoy, of Wheeler; two daughters, Tammy Root and her husband, Brent, of Fayetteville, Shanda Beanblossom and her husband, Lorne, of Springdale; two brothers, Mike Burrough and his wife, Debra, of Mountainburg, Carl Burrough and his wife, Susan, of Pettigrew; four sisters, Linda Eaton of Fayetteville, Betty Riley and her husband, Dubby, of Fayetteville, Margie Barrett and her husband, Tony, of Florence, Ala., Pam Tyree of Fayetteville; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, April 3, 2014, from 10 a.m. until service time at Sycamore Baptist Church of Fayetteville. Funeral service will be Thursday, April 3, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Sycamore Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Mount Comfort Cemetery in Fayetteville.
