Dollie Mae Binam, age 81, of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at North Hills Rehab in Fayetteville, Ark. Dollie was born May 18, 1932, in Compton, Ark., a daughter of Herbert and Lena (Blackston) Carter. She married Hurshel Ray Binam April 15, 1952, in Harrison, Ark. She retired from Washington Regional Hospital where she worked as a CNA. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and Oak Grove Church. Dollie is survived by her husband of 61 years, Hurshel Ray Binam; one son, Charles Binam and wife, Bonnie, one daughter, Peggy Griffith, all of Springdale, Ark.; four grandchildren, Alicha "Binam" Ross, Ashley Griffith, Arlene Lipp and Dean Capps; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Nina (Carter) Brisco; and one brother, Jerry Carter. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Dennis Griffith; one great-grandson, Hunter Ross; and two siblings, Charles Carter and Nola Carter. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel in Springdale, Ark. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Junior Martin officiating the service, with a committal service to follow at the Friendship Cemetery in Springdale, Ark.
